THIS cunning crocodile was meant to give passers-by a surprise to highlight a charity's up-and-coming exhibition.

Hours had been spent creating the croc by people who use Headway's day centre in Gregorys Mill Street, Barbourne.

As an early April Fools' Day trick, staff and centre users placed it beside the banks of the river Severn on Friday and lay in wait to see what reaction people would have.

However, passers-by were too savvy and instead commented on the workmanship that had gone into making the crocodile.

Helen Dodd, day opportunities co-ordinator, said: "Nobody fell for the prank when we were down there they just said "nice crocodile".

"We kind of hid and sat a bit further away so it didn't look like it was from us but nobody was falling for it.

"We wanted to highlight the jungle-themed exhibition we will hopefully be running in May as part of acquired brain injury week.

"We are trying to find somewhere to hold the exhibition at the moment and it would be great to hear from anyone who can help."
