THE boss of the ambulance service covering Worcester has been named among the best the National Health Service (NHS) has.
Anthony Marsh, chief executive of the West Midlands Ambulance Service, said he was "incredibly proud" to be given the accolade by the Health Service Journal.
“I am very touched and flattered to have been chosen by such an expert panel and to be ranked alongside some fantastic colleagues across the country," he said.
“Whilst it is a humbling experience and I am obviously very proud, this award is a reflection on the hard work of all of the staff who work with me in the West Midlands, whatever their role within the organisation.
“The passionate way in which they go about their work is a credit to the service.
"From my conversations with them, I know how dedicated they are to providing the very highest level of care possible for each and every patient.”
