SWIMMERS made a splash for charity by raising more than £700 for Acorns Children's Hospice.
Members of Pershore Swimming Club took time out from their busy competitive schedule to raise the cash during a two-hour charity swimming event at Pershore Leisure Centre.
About 60 members took part, competing in a variety of challenging relay races and raising a grand total of £720.
Steve Vizard, chairman of Pershore Swimming Club, said: “We chose Acorns because it is close to a lot of people's hearts. It's also great for the children at the club to do something to help other children who are not as fortunate as they are.”
Mandie Fitzgerald, community fundraising officer for Acorns Children's Hospice, said: “The majority of the £2.5million needed to run Acorns for the Three Counties comes from voluntary donations and fundraising so events like this are vital to us being able to continue providing services to local life-limited and life-threatened children and their families.
"On behalf of everyone at Acorns, I’d like to say a huge thank you to Pershore Swimming Club for their support.”
