A STAND at Worcester Warriors' Sixways Stadium was evacuated after a TV camera crane collapsed on to the roof.
The crane came down on the North Stand before the team's Rugby Union Premier League fixture against London Wasps, which was being televised live on BT Sport, began.
It was reported that a cameraman who was working on the crane when it collapsed was unhurt, while spectators were moved to different stands as a precaution.
A fan on the Worcester Warriors' message board said: "'Crane fell on it' is overstating the case somewhat. The hydraulics failed on the huge cherry-picker that BT Sport uses for its high-level shots of the match.
"The platform descended slowly and came gently to rest on the roof of North Stand."
A crowd of about 6,500 people watched Worcester lose 11-13 as their hunt for a league win continues.
