A MAN had to be cut out of a car this morning and taken to hospital after he was in an accident on the A44 at Broadwas.
The man in his 50s suffered facial lacerations and back pain from the crash at around 5.45am, which only involved his car and caused the road to be closed in both directions until about 8.30am.
The accident occurred on the eastbound side of the road towards Knightwick between the B4197 and Church Lane, Broadwas.
Firefighters at the scene cut the roof off the car using hydraulic cutting gear and removed the man as he was medically trapped. They also had to cut away some hedgerow at the site of the accident.
The man was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
The road is now clear.
