A WOMAN whose cries for help were ignored was later the victim of a serious domestic assault at a Worcester house.

The barefooted victim, in her 20s, made her way from the house in Barbers Close, Blackpole, along Drapers Close and into Windermere Drive where she appealed for help to a passing group.

The appeals were ignored before a man, also in his 20s, physically returned her to the Barbers Close address where she was seriously assaulted.

Police want to speak to members of the group who were walking in the Blackpole area about 7.30pm on Saturday (15th).

“Thankfully the victim is recovering well from (her) injuries, but this was clearly a traumatic experience for her," said PC Simon Timbrell, who is investigating the incident.

"We are piecing together what happened on Saturday evening at Barbers Close and we would like to trace the group of people who the victim pleaded to on Windermere Drive.

“They did not respond to the woman’s calls - perhaps they did not realise the seriousness of the situation - but I am sure they will remember this young woman, walking barefooted and calling for help.

“If you were in that group, please get in touch: you may be able to offer evidence that could greatly benefit the case.

“I would also like to appeal to anyone else who heard cries for help and a commotion in the Barbers Close / Drapers Close are anytime between 5.15pm and 10pm to please come forward.”
