THE launch of this year's Marie Curie Cancer Care Daffodil appeal in Ledbury was the best ever, organisers said.
Members of the local fundraising team were out in force in the High Street, and wearing straw boaters decorated with daffodil emblems, yellow curly wigs, and the distinctive Mare Curie tabards, the volunteers made an already sunny Saturday even brighter.
Chairman of Team Ledbury Bruce Foster said: "This is our best launch appeal to date, raising a record-breaking amount of almost £900 which will go towards providing nursing care for those who are terminally ill, and for supporting their families.
"Yet again we acknowledge and recognise the Ledbury community's amazing generosity and wish to publicly thank all those who contributed and purchased a daffodil badge."
