POTHOLE-busting gangs have repaired more than 6,000 problems in roads in Worcestershire caused by the flooding and severe weather.
About £700,000 was channelled into tackling the challenge of repairing road issues and since the beginning of the year, the Highways teams have fixed a total of 6,400 potholes in their flood recovery efforts.
Councillor John Smith OBE, county council cabinet member for Highways, said: "Our teams have been working hard all year, with the pace accelerating a few weeks ago when the flood recovery work began. Inspections and repairs have increased and this will continue as we fix the inevitable problems caused by the heavy rainfall and flooding we've experienced so far this year."
Last year the teams fixed 27,000 defects on the county's 2,257miles of road.
People are being reminded that they can play an important part in repairing problems by reporting them through online services at worcestershire.gov.uk/reportit.
