THE indepth and extensive coverage provided by your Worcester News during the floods was put to good use in lessons at one primary school.
Children at Powick Primary School, Malvern Road, near Worcester, used the popular Live blog and online articles at worcesternews.co.uk to learn more about safety, report writing and geography.
Year six pupils at the school also turned into rookie journalists and created their own reports on last month's floods which affected over 100 homes and 55 businesses in the county.
Headteacher Richard Drewett said: "They tried to include a range of features such as facts, opinions and views of experts, observers and those affected by the floods.
"They also tried to demonstrate correct use of speech marks, paragraphs and interesting language."
Many of the stories focussed on the severity of the floods, which were the highest since 2007, as well as looked at the human aspect too.
