POLICE have named a woman who died from stab wounds in Redditch at the weekend as Kirsty Wright.
The 21 year old was stabbed on Saturday, March 15, in Evesham Road, Redditch, and was rushed to hospital where she died of her wounds the following morning.
Akeel Hussain, aged 29, of Pembroke Croft, Birmingham, has been charged with murder and remains in custody.
He is due to appear at Worcester Crown Court on Wednesday, March 19.
Det Insp Jon Roberts, of West Mercia Police, said: “ I’d like to take this opportunity to reassure local people that this appears to be a self-contained incident and that there is no reason for concern within the wider community."
“We’d like to thank everyone who has come forward with information to assist our enquiry and also thank people from the Evesham Road area for the patience and support they have shown our officers.”
