SHOPPERS across the county have been doing their bit for military charity Help for Heroes.
The charity took part in a national fundraiser at Debenhams stores across the country over the weekend of March 1 and 2.
Help for Heroes in Worcestershire ran two teams of volunteers at Debenhams in Worcester and in Redditch where generous shoppers donated a total of £2,707.30.
At Debenhams Worcester the team was led by local coordinator Eric Stewart and volunteers Tim and Helen Kidwell, Eden Tyrrell, Tony Hacon, Sue and Margaret Sturdy, who collected £1,027.53.
In Redditch at the Kingfisher Shopping Centre the team was led by local coordinator Jonathan Brown and supported by county coordinator Ian Baldry alongside volunteers Tina and Jon Wright, Amy and Katy Harrisson. They raised £1,679.77.
Mr Brown said: "This money will go a long way to helping our wounded service personnel at a time when the conflict in Afghanistan is drawing down but those who have been seriously injured still require ongoing treatment."
