POLICE have interviewed a man in connection with an arson attack in which eight cars and a van were set alight.
Police have renewed their appeal for more information following the attack in Warndon, Worcester between 11pm on Friday, February 28 and 2am the following day.
A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: "Enquiries are ongoing and yesterday a 22-year-old male was interviewed in connection with the matter and some items were seized from him. We are continuing our investigation."
We reported at the time how firefighters attended a car fire near Warndon Primary School in Edgeworth Close but quickly found more cars ablaze nearby. Three crews from Worcester and one from Droitwich tackled the fires for around an hour and a half. The fires were also in the areas of Randwick Drive, Haresfield Close, Tetbury Drive and Martindale Close.
Police have asked that anyone who saw anything suspicious get in touch, either via 101 or Crimestoppers (0800 555 111) or directly to PC 1712 Andrew Todd at Warndon Safer Neighbourhood Team. The incident number is 839-s-280214.
