NEW homes are needed for ten pairs of rabbits currently in the care of the RSPCA Worcester & Mid-Worcestershire Branch.

When rabbits come into the branch as a bonded pair, the charity feels it would be unkind to separate them, so they are put up for rehoming as a couple.

However, this often means they are with the branch for some time as couples are much harder to rehome.

Margaret Layland, of the branch, said: "We find that most of the people who adopt from us want a single rabbit to pair up with the rabbit they've already got. This is especially true in the winter months.

"Now that spring is here at last, we are hoping more people will come forward wanting a pair. We currently have 10 couples in care."

The pairs include Cloud and Cotton, who are white dwarf lops and look identical. They aren't keen on being picked up but are fine once they are in your arms.

Poppy and Penny are another lovely pair available for adoption. Their owner didn't want to part with them, but her circumstances changed and sadly she had no option. They are a friendly pair aged three.
