A MISSING Pershore man found dead in the river Avon has been named as Christopher Guy Treharne.
Christopher Guy Treharne, 70, who went missing last week and was known locally as Guy, was last seen in Pershore town centre during the afternoon of Sunday, March 2.
On Thursday evening (6 March), at around 5pm, a police search team found the body of a man was found in the river Avon near to Pershore Bridge. It was later formally identified as being Mr Treharne.
His death is not thought to be suspicious, although Worcester CID are investigating to prepare a report from the coroner. Detective Sergeant David Hall said: “We are trying to confirm Mr Treharne’s last movements.
“A family member spoke to him on the phone at around midday on Monday (3 March) and we would like to find out what happened to him in the following days, particularly on Monday and Tuesday.
“If anyone saw Mr Treharne last week, I urge them to get in touch. I would also like to speak to anyone who saw an older man behaving unusually around the River Avon in Pershore last week.”
Mr Treharne lived in the Pershore area for five or six years. He was 6ft 1ins tall, with blue eyes, dark hair going grey around the sides, a thick moustache and he walks with a limp.
