BY HATTIE WALES (aged 11)
The first book in the Medusa Project series is a young teenager’s page turner which leaves you desperate to read the rest of the series.
The Medusa Project is about four teenagers called Nico, Ketty, Dylan and Ed. They discover that a scientist implanted them with the Medusa gene, a gene for psychic abilities, when their mothers were pregnant.
However the scientist, William Fox, had died, and all four babies were hidden away for years. The series is about the teenagers' adventure, as they discover more and more about their past.
The Set-Up is from the point of view of Nico - Nico is cocky and charismatic, and thinks his telekinetic abilities will win him money and power, along with the girl of his dreams. But, he has no idea how wrong he is.
I found this book exciting - It really hooked me - and I found myself wanting to read more. It was quite predicable in places, and I found Dylan’s character particularly frustrating. However, overall, it was a great read.
I would recommend this book and the rest of the series for 10- to 15-year-olds.
This book was published by Simon & Schuster Children's and is available to buy for £6.99. It can also be borrowed from The Hive as well as other Worcestershire libraries. Click here to check availability and check it out.
