AN inquest is to be opened tomorrow (29) into the death of 21-year-old Zana Karim, of Fir Way Brickfields.
He died when the car he was travelling in crashed into a lamppost in Cotswold Way.
Mr Karim, a food operative, was a passenger in the back seat of a grey Rover 420 when the car left the road and collided with a lamppost at about 9pm on Friday. (21) He died in Worcestershire Royal Hospital on Saturday, (22) while a male driver and a second male passenger were taken by ambulance to the accident and emergency department with non-life-threatening injuries. They were later released.
The coroner for the county, Victor Round, is expected to open and adjourn the inquest at 1pm at Worcestershire County Coroner's Court in Stourport-on-Severn.
Police are appealing for witnesses who saw the incident, or the car being driven before, to contact them on 08457 444888, quoting 701S221206.
.On Saturday at about 2.30pm, a man was arrested at Worcestershire Royal Hospital on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
He was bailed to return to Worcester police station while inquries continue.
