A Worcester city councillor is on a mission to get road signs improved in Warndon Villages.
Andy Roberts is calling for Worcestershire County Council to add to its recent success in cleaning up the area by improving the signs.
He said: "It's not always easy to find an address on Warndon Villages and things are not helped by missing and broken road name signs."
"In the past I have had to talk people in' on the mobile phone when they are trying to find their way to where I live - you can imagine how much more difficult it would be for them if the sign with the vital road name was damaged or missing.
"Goodness only knows how Father Christmas found his way!
He said that the signs gave a bad first impression to visitors and negated the council's good work .
"This year there has been some excellent work done on landscaping, maintenance of verges and reducing litter. It would be great if our street names could be repaired so they do not spoil the effect of the improvements."
"I feel that a high-impact improvement could be made for relatively low expenditure if the road signs were repaired."
Graham Vass, Worcester City Council's property services' senior engineer, said he had been approached by a group of councillors who were not happy with some of the street name signs.
A city council spokeswoman said Mr Vass had asked them to give him a list of name plates which were not up to scratch, in priority order, and he would then deal with them, whether it meant repainting them or getting completely new ones.
She said: "He has asked for a list of road name plates in priority order and as soon as he gets that he will action it."
