GRITTERS will be out tonight across the county after the Met Office predicts surface temperatures to dip below freezing.
Hoar frost may develop in the early hours with the potential for icy roads where surfaces are damp drivers are warned to take appropriate precautions.
The Worcestershire County Council highways teams will be gritting from 7pm with the conditions monitored through the night.
Drivers are also reminded to drive carefully through any standing flood water and be cautious that surface water can develop into black ice quickly, due to the exceptional rainfall we have experienced over the past few weeks.
With the possibility of icy road surfaces and fog, the advice remains that motorists should not assume roads have been gritted and to temper their driving accordingly.
