A FAST food outlet is up for a top national award.

The Bull Ring Chippy, in St John’s, Worcester, has been nominated for the Best Kebab Shop in the UK Outside London award with four other finalists.

Jon Randell, owner of the chip shop – pictured with one of his special kebabs – said: “I took over nearly two years ago but it was not in a great shape. Thankfully, we have all managed to turn it around. 

“It was great when we found out we had been nominated. The staff deserve special mention. 

"We think it’s brilliant Worcester can boast one of the best chippies in the country.”

The chippy was nominated by shoppers working on behalf of the British Kebab Awards.

The winner will be announced on Tuesday, January 14, in London.
