FIREFIGHTERS remain at a thatched house in Holt Health although a fire in the roof is now out.
Crews from Worcester, Droitwich, Evesham and Upton were called to a blaze at the thatched cottage at around 1am.
They found a developing fire in the roof and first floor bedroom of the detached timber framed home.
Station Commander Ian Jallands from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) said: "When crews arrived they were faced with a rapidly developing roof fire with limited water supplies.
"The use of foam lances enabled the fire spread within the roof to be slowed down, allowing time for water supplies to be established, confining the fire to mainly the roof and first floor areas.
"Thankfully no one was injured during the incident."
Firefighters will continue damping down the home this morning.
The fire also caused traffic problems in Holt Heath, near Worcester.
Police were directing traffic on the A4133 in Holt Heath, near Broomfields Farm Shop, due to the incident.
West Midlands Ambulance Service and the Red Cross Support unit also helped at the fire.
The cause of the blaze is being investigated.
