SANTA delivered a special present for two intrepid fund-raisers.
Paul Edmondson and his friend Nick Berry, from Harvington, near Evesham, planned to cycle from John O'Groats to Lands End next year to raise money for the Tracy Sollis Leukaemia Trust - set up in memory of 15-year-old Evesham teenager Tracy Sollis, who lost a brave battle against acute myeloid leukaemia in February 1995.
But there was slight problem - they had no bikes. However, now, About Bikes, based on the Blackminster Business Park, has come to the rescue and donated two top-quality Trek bikes.
Further good news came when Oli Steward, an employee of About Bikes, offered to become the third member of the team. Oli will provide any mechanical assistance if any is needed on route.
Paul, aged 28, said: "The bikes are fantastic and will assist us enormously, we are delighted with them."
Serious training is now under way in preparation for the adventure, which is to begin on Monday, April 16. Anyone wishing to sponsor the intrepid threesome can do so by calling the About Bikes shop on 01386 832000 or e-mailing info@about-bikes.com
