KIND-hearted staff at Worcester Magistrates Court have taken the season of good will literally and chipped in to help some of the people who they see going through the courts.
The administrative staff, ushers and clerks have raised £85 towards the costs of a centre for the city's homeless over Christmas.
Last year the Worcester News ran a successful campaign to support the Maggs Day Centre, Deansway, over the winter and help feed the people who use it.
Court support team manager Linda Hunt said: "We always do fund-raising each year and we normally have two chosen charities. Some of the people who use the day centre come through the courts and we thought it would be nice to put something back into the community and raise money for the centre.
"During this period of Christmas and families, we like to think of other people. The centre had funding problems last Christmas but it is so worthwhile and the service it gives is so vital."
Maggs manager Mair Edmund said: "I thought it was fantastic. The people who work at the court are used to seeing our clients in a very different light. Their donation is nearly enough to provide food for a week."
Maggs Day Centre provides 60 meals a day to homeless people in the city.
