MORE than 500 Worcester News readers received a Christmas treat this week.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, senior citizen readers headed to the Odeon cinema in Foregate Street, Worcester, for our annual free film screening.
As well as watching The Queen, starring Helen Mirren, they enjoyed a glass of sherry courtesy of the Worcester News and fresh, hand-baked mince pies courtesy of Greggs.
On Tuesday, Worcester deputy mayor Stephen Inman helped serve the interval refreshments and on Wednesday the senior citizens were joined by Mayor of Worcester Ian Imray and mayoress Joan Imray.
Worcester News promotions manager Sarah Bevan said: "It went extremely well, everybody had a great time.
"This year, due to a very high level of demand, we filled two screens on Tuesday. "
