PEDESTRIANS in a Worcester parish are one step closer to having a new zebra crossing installed.
Following requests from St Peter's Parish Council to look into the possibility of having a crossing installed near Farne Avenue in St Peter's Drive, senior district liaison engineer for Worcestershire Tom Comerford updated members at the parish meeting.
He said it would probably cost about £30,000 - money which would come from Worcestershire County Council and the parish council.
The county council has said it was prepared to investigate installing a crossing if safety criteria such as visibility at the site were satisfied.
Mr Comerford said a formal assessment of the site would be carried out. There will be an update at the next meeting, on Monday, January 29.
