AN average shopping trip turned to a festive treat for people who visited a supermarket in St John's, Worcester at the weekend.
Talented young musicians Sam Pagett and Ben Payne performed a mini-Christmas concert in the Bull Ring Co-op on Saturday afternoon.
Fourteen-year-old Sam is probably the county's most popular young saxophone player, having wowed the crowds during this year's Worcester Festival.
He is a regular performer at fund-raisers around Worcestershire and recently joined rock and roll stars of the 50s and 60s to celebrate the life and music of Eddie Cochran at an event in Chippenham.
Ben, also aged 14, accompanied him on the keyboard.
The 20-minute performance raised money for Noah's Ark Trust, the Worcester-based charity that supports bereaved children. It was organised by stalwart fundraiser Ray Portman. The 81-year-old has been supporting numerous charities for the past 45 years and he's showing no signs of slowing down.
On Sunday, December 10, he hosted another musical extravaganza at the Firs Rest Home in Malvern Road, St John's.
