THE St Richard's Hospice lights of love are shining across Malvern following a special service and switch on ceremony attended by 80 people at Christ Church.
Rod Waugh, senior chaplain at St Richard's, led the event with the Rev Peter Furber of Christ Church. The Hill Singers led the singing accompanied by professional pianist David Gaukroger.
Readers dedicated a light for love - whether in memory of a loved one, celebration of a birth or for someone who will be absent this Christmas.
For a donation of your choice, a light shines on the St Richard's Hospice Christmas Tree throughout December. The dedicated names are displayed in a Book of Thanksgiving at the church as well as at Worcester Cathedral throughout December.
Across South Worcestershire this year St Richard's received Lights of Love donations raising over £19,000 so far towards the work of the hospice caring for our patients and families.
This year's Lights of Love initiative is the first since St Richard's moved into its new £5.25m hospice at Wildwood Drive, Worcester.
Fund-raisers are now hard at work generating the £2.8m which needs to be raised this year to provide the ongoing specialist care and support for patients with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and their families.
