A PRIMARY school in Pershore had to be evacuated this morning after a fire in a staff room.
Pupils and staff were evacuated from Cherry Orchard First School at about 9am after noticing a strong smell of burning from a first floor staff room.
Firefighters from Evesham Fire Station were called to the scene and used a thermal imaging camera to locate the smell, which had been caused by a small fire in a dishwasher.
They extinguished the flames and lessons resumed as normal shortly afterwards.
