MANUFACTURERS working with copper have been warned by police to be vigilant following a failed burglary in Malvern.
Would-be thieves gained access to Skot Transformerse in Spring Lane between 5pm on Friday and 7am on Monday, although nothing was taken.
A police spokesman said: "Businesses in the area working with copper should ensure that they are totally happy with security at their premises, as there are clearly criminals around who are determined to steal copper, almost certainly to be sold on for scrap.
"Police would like to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Spring Lane area between the given times.
"They may have noticed unusual vehicle movements or strangers at some time. Any information, no matter how un-important they may think it to be, could be crucial to our investigation."
Anyone with information is asked to call 08457 444888, quoting 96S/181206.
