THERE were plenty of double and even triple acts at a Worcester primary school's fund-raising day.

Lyppard Grange Primary School, in Ankerage Close, Warndon, staged a twins and triplets day when children, staff and a few parents dressed up in the same style clothes as one or two others to look like twins or triplets.

Everyone who took part paid £1 and the proceeds go into the parent teachers association funds to pay for things the school cannot afford from its own budget.

Headteacher Sian Williams said: "We had a big parade in the hall so all the kids could see what all the others were wearing. It was also our Christmas lunch that day so it was a really festive day and a really good fun day."

Children and adults turned up as gangsters, pirates, Father Christmas, Snow Whites, princesses, fairies, snowmen, Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee, while a quintet of teachers, including one man, dressed as schoolgirls.

Miss Williams said all 310 pupils took part and about 20 adults, so she expected the event to raise more than £300. The money will be used to help provide lighting to go with a new sound system and outside shelters which children and parent can use in wet of hot weather.

The parent teacher association is also staging a ball in February at Worcester Rugby Club to raise funds.
