WORCESTER businesses are being encouraged to muck in and give a city business park a make-over.
A campaign to clear up the Shire business park, Wainwright Road, Warndon, has begun. Led by Worcester Bosch Group it aims to get all the businesses working together to ensure the area always looks its best.
On Friday, December 8, Richard Berry, director of human resources at Worcester Bosch, was joined by Councillor Allah Ditta and James Cooper of the Duckworth Worcestershire Trust to carry out a one-off clean up that would show the companies what was possible.
Mike Harrison, head of environment services at Worcester City Council, invited businesses to join the Warndon and Shire Park Environment Action Group.
He said: "For a lot of people who visit the site, it is the only impression of Worcester that they get and now we want to make that whole area more attractive.
"What we are trying to do is to get all the businesses to work together. At the moment some are more willing than others."
Worcester Bosch has already put £5,000 into the action group's pot and it is also looking into employing someone to ensure the area is always tidy.
