HOUSEHOLDERS are being urged to spare a thought for their feathered garden friends over the festive period.
As people celebrate with family and friends, Worcestershire County Council are spreading the message to continue feeding birds, as they need extra help as winter looms.
Christmas holidays can often disrupt people's routines, and that includes people who take care of birds that visit their gardens. The colder weather heralds the time when birds are most in need of food.
Community liaison officer, Hema Kasi-Patel, said: "As we treat ourselves to rich pickings over Christmas, it is important not to forget about wildlife. We can all help by continuing to put out food and water."
