A BAR worker suffered a fractured jaw in an “utterly needless assault” at a Worcester pub on Saturday night.
Between 9pm and 10pm on Saturday, October 26 a group of men and women spent about an hour drinking on the pavement outside the Chestnut pub on Lansdowne Road.
When a member of staff asked them to leave the doorway as they were blocking other customers from getting in they assaulted him, punching and kicking him while he was on the ground.
The victim was taken to hospital with numerous facial injuries including a fractured jaw.
One of the men was white, about 6ft tall and of athletic build. He had short, ginger hair gelled up at the front and was wearing dark trousers and a grey top.
Witnesses say the group arrived and left in a black hired car.
Constable Allan Figueiredo from Worcester Police Station described it as “an utterly needless assault on a man simply doing his job”.
“We are attempting to contact all those who were in the Chestnut on Saturday evening, so if you were there, please get in touch,” he said.
“Also, if anyone has any information about who was responsible for the assault, I urge them to contact West Mercia Police."
Anyone with any information can contact West Mercia Police on 101, quoting reference number 717s of October 26.
Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
