A GROUP of performers are ‘on top of the world’ as they prepare to take to the stage with their new production. The show features 22 dancers from Harlequin Stage School, four comedians, a chorus line of 36 singers and dancers and 40 children from Claines CE Primary School. Worcester Musical Theatre Company’s magical 2013 show Top of the World opens at the Swan Theatre from Tuesday, November 5, until Saturday, November 9. The cast have been working on the show’s 60 songs and dance routines since May Phil Weston, development manager at Perdiswell Young People's Leisure Club, where the show has been rehearsed, said: “The excitement is reaching fever pitch. “The children are thrilled to be singing ‘One World One Vision’, the dancers can’t wait to perform their stunning winter ballet and the company are overjoyed to be rock and rolling, waltzing and razzle-dazzling all over the stage.” Mr Weston said the show was only possible thanks to the work of a choreographer, eight producers and a professional band as well as a wardrobe team, front-of-house volunteers, chaperones and matrons and a backstage crew. The Worcester Musical The-atre Company is a keen supporter of local and national charities, having donated more than £100,000 over the last 32 years.
This year it is supporting Acorns Children’s Hos-pice in their special 25th anniversary year. Tickets for Top of the World are available from Worcester Live box o)ffice on 01905 611427.
