A POLICE officer has been fined after admitting Public Order offences while being suspended from duty.
Ben Mullet, who lives in Worcester, was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning following a confrontation in the city centre.
Just 11 days earlier, also in Worcester city centre, the 26-year-old was led away by police officers after being restrained by a doorman following a similar confrontation.
The offences happened while Mullet, who is based at Kidderminster, was suspended from duty pending an internal police investigation relating to “other matters”.
Misconduct proceedings by West Mercia Police against him are ongoing.
Appearing at Worcester Magistrates’ Court yesterday, Mullet admitted two counts of using threatening, abusive and/or insulting words and behaviour.
He was fined £540, ordered to pay £85 costs and told to pay a £27 victim surcharge.
