THIS is the image of a man police want to speak to in connection with an unprovoked attack on a student.
The teenager suffered serious head injuries in the incident, which took place on New Street at around 12.15am on Friday, October 4.
The victim had been leaving popular nightspot Sin when he was approached by another man and punched in the face. He fell back, hitting his head on the road and when he tried to get up fell forward, hitting his head again.
He was left with a fractured skull and fractured eye socket and may need an operation as he is suffering double vision following the attack.
Detective Constable Craig Osborne from Worcester CID said: “We ran a witness appeal about this incident last week and since then, the victim has been discharged from hospital and is now at home recovering.
“We are keen to speak to the man in the CCTV image as we believe he may be able to help us with our inquiries.
“At this stage, we are unsure if he was involved in the incident, but it is important we identify him so we can eliminate him from our inquiries if necessary.
“He could be a key witness and I would urge him or anyone who recognises the man to call us.”
Anyone with information about this incident can contact Det Con Osborne on 0300 333 3000 quoting reference 8S 041013, or the anonymous charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
