ALL brides feel like they are walking on air on their wedding day.

But the sky really was the limit for one Worcester bride when she was treated to a surprise helicopter ride by her groom on their wedding day.

Laura Moverley married Chris Jenkinson, of Low Fold Close, St John’s, Worcester, at St John-in-Bedwardine Church.

After the wedding, the 28-year-old bride was driven to a field near the Talbot in Knightwick, near Worcester, where her unusual chariot, the helicopter, was waiting.

After a brief flight, amazed guests looked to the skies as the couple made their landing at the Pear Tree, Smite, near Worcester, for their wedding reception.

The day had already held one surprise for the bride after a former neighbour of her parents secretly organised a Bentley to take her to church.

She was also delighted to be greeted by 20 children from the class she teaches at St Clement’s Primary School, Worcester, after the church ceremony.

And to top it off, husband Chris, a sports teacher at the city’s St Barnabas Primary School, had also got his bride personalised number plates for her car.

Proud mother-of-the-bride Bridget Moverley said: “It was all just a complete surprise. Her mouth was wide open when she saw the Bentley and at the reception an usher brought us all out on to the patio and told us to look up to the sky because a big bird was coming in to land. It was the most wonderful thing ever.”

The couple, who met 12 years ago while working at Tesco in Warndon Villages, Worcester, enjoyed a honeymoon in St Lucia at the Sandals Halcyon Beach Resort.
