A WOMAN and dog were rescued from a kitchen fire in the early hours of this morning.
The woman was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital as a precautionary measure but she is not believed to have been seriously injured.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were called to the house in Wordsworth Crescent, Kidderminster at 12.54am.
They found a small fire in the kitchen which was extinguished using a house reel.
Firefighters rescued the woman and her pet and made sure the building was ventilated.
Two appliances from Kidderminster and one from Stourport were sent.
West Midlands Ambulance Service also sent a rapid response vehicle.
