ROBIN Walker says the Prime Minister struck the right tone in his keynote speech at today’s Conservative Party conference.

David Cameron owed to get behind business to create a "land of opportunity for all" and insisted the economy was turning a corner.

The premier also suggested benefits for under-25s would be cut after the next general election to encourage more young people into work, and said he believed in “low taxes”.

He also distanced himself from the Liberal Democrats by saying the party will be campaigning for a Tory Government in 2015.

It follows Labour’s conference in Brighton, where leader Ed Miliband said Mr Cameron is failing to do enough on improving people’s quality of life.

Mr Walker, Worcester’s MP, said: “The big message we got from it is one of opportunity, that he wants to make Britain a great nation where everyone has a chance to succeed in life.

“I think it was a very good speech that struck the right note.”

Harriett Baldwin, who represents West-Worcestershire, said: “It's about building on our track record of job creation and apprenticeships, helping people own their own homes and save for a pension.

“It's about reforming the welfare system to make work pay and reforming education to give every child the chance to succeed.”

Mr Miliband tweeted: “David Cameron's speech shows he does not know where to start in tackling the cost of living crisis facing Britain's hard-working families.”
