SHOPPERS at Tesco in Warndon put their hands in their pockets and gave generously to a collection for Help for Heroes. During the weekend of Saturday, September 14, and Sunday, September 15, Tesco stores around the country held fund-raising events for the military charity.
In Worcester, the volunteers were led by Linda Tomlinson and gathered in the Warndon shop where they raised £1,400. Ian Baldry, Worcestershire county co-ordinator for Help for Heroes, said: “We are most appreciative to Tesco for providing this fund- raising opportunity and I would like to thank all those who kindly made a donation.”
The money raised goes towards work carried out by Help for Heroes, which is closely involved with the Defence Recovery Programme, an MOD-led initiative in partnership with the charity and others that encompasses all the stages of support available to the wounded.
