SUMMERTIME troubadour Newton Faulkner brought his singalong vibes and trademark rust-red dreads to an independent record store.
The chart-topping pop star performed a 30-minute set of tracks taken from his new album Studio Zoo and old favourites such as Dream Catch Me at Rapture Entertainment in Evesham on Tuesday, August 27 – the day after the record was released.
More than 250 fans packed into the Riverside Arcade store to hear the performance and get memorabilia signed by the singer during a meet and greet session.
Store manager Natalie Boyles said: “The store was completely packed for Newton’s performance.
“We’re really pleased that we can give something back to our customers and highlight the importance of independent record shops.”
Newton’s last album Write It on Your Skin went straight to number one in the UK.
His debut album Hand Built By Robots spent more than 10 months in the top 40 album charts and became one of the top 20 biggest selling UK digital albums of all time.
He has sold more than 1.5 million and has just finished a sold-out tour which took him to Australia and the Far East.
Other acts to have played the store include McFly and Scouting For Girls.
