VISITORS have a final chance to bag a bargain as a market showcasing the work of crafty county creatives is held on Sunday.

The riverside arts market, which has run on Sundays during the Worcester Festival, will be held for the final time during this year’s event. It will run from 11am to 5pm.

Among the raft of items on sale will be paintings, photography and handcrafted goods including metal work, textile and glass art made by Worcestershire artists.

There will be stalls featuring more than 20 artists along the picturesque riverside at South Quay, near the fountains, offering a scenic spot for shoppers to pick up a piece of charming art.

Part of the Worcester Festival, which runs until Bank Holiday Monday, the market has been organised in a partnership by the Worcester Business Improvement District (BID) and the Worcester Tourism Association.

Worcester BID’s marketing and events officer Nadja von Dahlen said the market helped showcase what the city has to offer.

“Event visitors were very pleased with the quality and variety of arts and crafts on display,” she said.

“Markets like this help to enhance the visitor experience and draw people to Worcester showing off the city at its best.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to find that special present or long sought after piece of art for your home.”

As well as stalls selling their wares, artists will be demonstrating their crafts and a caricaturist will be creating bespoke drawings.

The riverside arts market will also offer plenty of activities for children from pompom bracelet and key ring making to playing giant games.

Free face painting and live music are also planned for visitors on the day, while the Worcester Tourism Association will be holding a raffle.
