THREE men have been arrested in connection with burglaries at three Worcester businesses in the early hours of this (WEDS) morning.
Police in Worcester are appealing for information after the raids, which saw steaks stolen from Worcester & Midlands Cold Stores Ltd, in Bromyard Road and cash taken the Coppertops pub, on Oldbury Road and from DJB Denny vets, on Henwick Road.
Detective Inspector Stu Murphy, from Worcester CID, said: “Three men were arrested this morning in connection with the burglaries and are currently in custody, awaiting questioning.
“However, we are yet to recover the meat products stolen from Worcester & Midlands Cold Stores and we suspect they are probably in the process of being sold on to local residents.
“I would urge people to let us know if they are offered these products and also, to only trust meat bought from a legitimate business.
“That is the only way you can guarantee that it has been handled or stored properly to ensure it is safe to eat.
“We would also appeal to anyone who saw any suspicious activity around the targeted business premises to contact us.”
Anyone with information should contact police on 0300 333 3000, quoting reference 74S 210813, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
