A MAN was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital with head lacerations after the car he was driving left the road at the Sixways junction of the M5 near Worcester.

The incident happened at about 1.45am this morning, when the Ford Focus hit the barrier at the junction’s gyratory.

The man was trapped in the car by furniture that he was transporting, and had to be freed by fire fighters.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to hospital for further checks, but his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
