TODAY marks the start of the 11th Worcester Festival with something on offer for everyone for days on end.
Look out for the traditional festival favourites such as Percy the Peacock as he strolls about the city, shopping centre face-painting fun with Funky Faces, the Artists’ Market with its colourful display of paintings, photography and hand-crafted items and the Gugge Band playing outside the Guildhall.
Full-throttle rockers Bon Jovi UK at the Swan Theatre and folk and comedy specialists Houghton Weavers at the Huntingdon Hall provide the first gigs of the festival from 8pm tonight.
A selection of exhibitions will give a different view of the cathedral as well as taking a look to the past of the Faithful City and Ancient Egypt.
While hands on workshops and tours will give a further insight into various trades and a number of historic buildings.
Plus there will be many more new and exciting events housed in and around the city.
Until Monday, August 26, it will be near impossible to walk along the High Street without seeing some live music, dancing or some weird and wonderful street theatre.
