FABULOUS fun for the whole family is promised at the Hanbury Countryside Show – now in its 66th year – and this year promises more than ever before.
The Kangaroo Kid, performing in the main arena, will have spectators watching in wonder as he performs unique stunts on a variety of quad bikes with live commentary.
Also appearing on Saturday, July 6, is the Midlands Heavy Horse Association with their gentle giants and the Mid-Western Gun Dog Society is staging arena displays.
There will be a parade of vintage vehicles and the ever-popular horse show with 50 classes, including show jumping, clear round jumping, dressage, hunter classes and a gymkhana – including British Show Jumping (BS) qualifiers, Hickstead qualifiers for hunters, the Showing Register championship (TSR) qualifiers and the Midland Association of Riding Clubs (MIDARC) qualifiers.
New to the show this year is a cattle section with 27 classes, including a Dexter show, and the sheep section, also with 27 classes, which attracted 102 entries last year, including Jacob and Berrichons.
The poultry marquee will feature more than 100 classes and there will also be a fun dog show which can be entered on the day.
All schedules for these sections can be found on the website at hanburycountrysideshow.co.uk.
More than 80 trade stands, a large proportion of them local businesses, have already booked their pitch and in addition, there will be a marquee featuring food and local produce and another for crafts.
From clothing to jewellery, cars to ice cream, chickens to cattle, there really is something for the whole family to enjoy with entry free for under-12s and £5 for adults.
Gates open at 8.30am on Saturday, July 6, at Park Hall Farm, near Hanbury (B96 6RD), and the 65-acre site will be clearly signposted off the B4090 Saltway.
Hanbury Countryside Show committee member Richard Heath said: “We aim to give visitors a real taste of the countryside and, as the show has proved so successful over the years, we have been able to expand and diversify even more for 2013.
“The chosen charity for this year is the Midlands Air Ambulance, so it’s all for a very good cause too.”
