A DYSLEXIC student had his laptop stolen in a day light robbery in Worcester.

The student, who is from the city and in his 20s, was walking along the Railway Walk alleyway between Rainbow Hill and Tolladine Road at about 10.40am on Tuesday.

He was carrying a carrier bag, which contained an Apple Mac as well as some other items, when he was approached from behind by a man who pushed in the back.

As he fell, the bag was snatched and the robber ran off towards Rainbow Hill. The bag was found nearby in Vicar Street but the Mac had been taken.

The 15" MacBook Pro - which is essential to his studies - was in a black clip-on hard case with various stickers, including one of a Hindu goddess, which was inside a soft, zip-up carrier.

PC Kirsty Edwards, who is investigating the incident, said: “The victim is a university student in Bristol and the Apple Mac was central to his studies.

“It was provided to him to because of his dyslexia and contained much of his college work, so he is desperate to get it back.

“I would like to speak to anyone who recognises the description of the offender or saw someone similar in the Rainbow Hill or Shrub Hill areas on Tuesday morning.

“Also, if anyone has seen a Mac like the one described or been offered it in suspicious circumstances, then please get in touch.”

The robber was described as white, about 6ft tall and of slim build. He was wearing light grey tracksuit bottoms, a white baseball cap, a blue waist-length jacket and light trainers.

Anyone with information should call PC Edwards on 101 quoting incident number 727s 300413.
