Dear Resident Having previously lived in the St Peter Division I know from first hand experience what a great part of the City it is. Residents enjoy living in the area and value the quality of the environment and the easy access to both the City Centre and the nearby countryside. But like any other area there are things that could be improved. The quality of roads and pavements, traffic congestion and access to local schools are all issues that local people have raised with me.
As your local County Councillor I would see it as my job to ensure that these and other matters are effectively addressed.
If elected as your representative I pledge to: Fight to protect the area’s remaining green spaces, including Middle and Upper Battenhall Farms; Seek to reduce traffic congestion; Work to improve local public services and make the County Council deliver even better value for money; Always be on hand to respond to residents’ issues & concerns; and, Ensure that any development near to St Peter’s is accompanied by investment in local infrastructure, particularly the Southern Link Road.
As a councillor I have seen time and again that no one group of people has a monopoly over good ideas. I would, therefore, always seek to listen to, and work with, people from all walks of life, communities and political persuasions to build upon the best ideas to make the St Peter’s and Battenhall areas even better than they are today.
Kind regards Marc Based on information supplied by Marc Bayliss.
