I have been in the UK for eight years and live and work in Worcester. A keen cyclist and walker, I want to help people put green ideas into everyday life. I have a young son, and being a father has reinforced my desire to be as green as possible so we can pass on a healthy planet to future generations. I want to help create a sustainable and self-reliant community that lives in harmony with a flourishing and diverse natural environment.
I want to see a much better public transport system in Worcester. We should have public transport that is reliable, affordable, convenient and widely accessible. By investing in safe and spacious cycle lanes, pavements and pedestrian areas and in better local bus services, we will reduce air pollution and congestion on our very busy roads.
Being from Germany, I have seen the Green Party’s influence grow substantially over the last 25 years. I have seen how Green ideas can push governments to pursue responsible solutions to our social, economic and environmental crises through a commitment to fairness, citizen participation, shared responsibility, peace and environmental protection. My targets are promoting renewable energy, organic farming and gardening, 100 per cent recycling and alternative transport.
