I have lived in Worcester for over 15 years and I work within the city as a senior engineering manager for a large international company. I have worked in a range of departments from Purchasing, Project Management and Manufacturing within a continuous improvement culture. Many of the management skills involved in my job overlap with the skills required for being a good councillor.
I have two grown-up children who attended Nunnery Wood High School and the Sixth Form College, I believe education is very important for young people and is part of the solution to high youth unemployment.
My biggest concern is to support the local economy and employment by ensuring that the County Council buys as many goods and services from local businesses as possible. I would also protect local employment by resisting moves to build houses on industrial land. The Green Party means business.
