The Rainbow Bear by Michael Morpurgo, illustrated by Michael Foreman (Picture Corgi, £6.99 paperback) While stalking through the snow of the Arctic circle, a snow bear longs to catch a rainbow and make it his.
On his way he meets a shaman who can grant his dearest wish - to be a rainbow bear. But you must be careful what you wish for...
This book, aimed at primary schoolchildren, is a lovely read and is beautifully illustrated. It would get the imagination of any young reader going and would likely to become a favourite on the children's bookshelf at home.
